Premiership Weekend Preview December 2012

Betting Preview 15th December 2012 QPR vs Fulham

After a gap in looking at Premiership betting previews we are back this week, looking at two teams struggling to find a good run of form in the league. This one could be difficult to call.

Lets have a look at QPR first. Although they haven’t won a game in the league for a while they are showing signs of improvement under Harry Redknapp, drawing the last three and at least showing some fighting spirit compared to earlier form. I can see them continuing this improvement under Harry’s leaderships and maybe this could the game to get that elusive win! Some other point worth noting when picking a bet for this game is that 80% of QPR’s last five games have had 2 or more goals in, plus they have scored in all of their last five home games. So may a game for the overs market.

QPR last five games

QPR 1 – 3 Southampton
Manchester United 3 – 1 QPR
Sunderland 0 – 0 QPR
QPR 1 – 1 Aston Villa
Wigan Athletic 2 – 2 QPR

Fulham last 5 games

Fulham 1 – 3 Sunderland
Stoke City 1 – 0 Fulham
Chelsea 0 – 0 Fulham
Fulham 0 – 3 Tottenham Hotspur
Fulham 2 – 1 Newcastle United

Fulham are also struggling for form in the league until their last game with an impressive home win against Newcastle. Does this mean they have turned they corner and will now go on a run of wins? I’m not so sure their away form does not suggest a win is on the cards here, looking at the last 5 away games, they have drawn four and losing one plus have conceded at least a goal in all but one of those 5 games.

I’m going to stick my neck out and predict a QPR home win in this game, Harry Redknapp has now had a few weeks to work with the squad and put his ideas across and I can see this giving them the edge.

Not the safest of bets I will agree, as odds of 2.5 for a home team confirm. So maybe you are looking for a safer bet? Well then an alternative if you don’t want to pick an outright winner is to go on the overs market especially 1.5 as both teams have scored in all of QPR’s last 5 home games, with two teams with loose defences meeting I can see this continuing.
